Enriching Mathematics Project - Tower Hamlets

Enriching Mathematics Project - Tower Hamlets

This Project, based in Tower Hamlets, will be funded for the year 2009 - 2010 by More Maths Grads and Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) and is based on work which the NRICH team began in 2002. It is a collaboration between Tower Hamlets' Children's Services and NRICH.

The project has developed over the years and now focuses on working with approximately forty Year 8 pupils from local schools. All pupils come to fourteen after schools sessions on Wednesday evenings throughout the year and work, alongside their teachers and student ambassadors from QMUL on problem-solving activities. Each session is led by a colleague from NRICH. In addition pupils (and parents) are invited to visit Cambridge during Science week in the Spring term and attend an "End of Year" celebration event at QMUL.
