This Chinese children's game for two players is a simple version of Wei ch'i or Go. Each player has 20 distinctive pieces (coloured counters, coins, pebbles, shells or markers of some kind). The game starts with an empty board and the players take it in turns to place one of their counters on one of the intersections of the board. The object is to capture your opponents counters by surrounding them . The game ends when there are no empty points where a counter can be placed or when a player has no counters left to place. The winner is the player who has captured most counters.
